Winter

Never forget the snow laden days of youth
These days are precious and never felt again

The memories I choose to keep
The sky was white with life
The ground was encompassed in winter
Across the street a child was
Alive in the days of youth
A kitten cries and I look away
Two Dogs play in the other room
My sister is sitting on the couch
Singing a tune I vaguely remember
Brothers are playing with toys in the den
A car passes by and breaks my memory

Are these memories forgotten?
No they are mine alone
The snow swept days of my youth
My memories are not forgotten
Looking back causes a smile
Today and forever
