Funeral

Your passing came to be without notice
Your body laid lifeless as I fought away my tears
I placed a single rose in testament to my love
Your older sister sat silent, her hate for me growing
Your mother embraced and gave comfort,
She had none of her own

Away in the distance thoughts raced through my head
I am alone my gentle love, the one I always treasured
I cry without you to reassure me
I miss the feeling when you were near
Death has entered my eye
Life has left my heart

For one more moment I wish you were here
Then another, then I wish I could join you
Impossibility in meeting, Improbability in embrace

As your body laid without life
I stared off into the distance
I saw your form leaving me forever

Forever, I miss you my love
Apart, I miss you my love
Always, I will miss you my love
